U+ Toastmasters & YRES Regional Speech Contest 2025
After a successful 2024 speech contest U+ Toastmasters Regional Speech Contest is returning in Summer 2025! This contest is an opportunity for children and youth who showcase exemplary leadership and a passion for public speaking, to articulate their thoughts and share their ideas.
We hope for this event to bring extraordinary and inspiring ideas together!
About Us
OUR MISSION
Our goal is to provide individuals with the opportunity to enhance their public speaking, leadership skills and education.
OUR PROGRAMS
We offer public speaking programs for both youth and seniors, both of which can be found under the 'Programs' section on this website.
We also run educational camps in the summer and throughout the year in partnership with YRES (York Region Educational Services), to foster continual learning for children ages 5-12.
HOW WE DO IT
We support individuals by guiding them through projects in the International Toastmasters Competent Communication and Competent Leadership manuals. These projects encourage individuals to practice new skills through a variety of activities, whether it be a goal-focused speech or taking on a leadership role at a meeting.
Individuals build confidence by leading the meeting, signing up to give a speech, and practicing impromptu speaking while gaining feedback.
